Tips for Personal Finances
1. Save at least 10 cents from every dollar you make and put it where it can draw the most interest. There should be enough money saved for at least six months to cover all monthly expenses in case of an emergency! Do you have that much saved?
2. Do you charge too much each month? Carry cash to spend, for groceries, clothes, eating out, and other things. When over charging on credit cards is a problem, using cash instead can make you aware of just how much money you are spending needlessly.
3. Don't be hasty in slapping a credit card or cash down the next time you are buying anything. Ask yourself if you really need it or just want it. There is a difference that can save you money! We think we need a lot, but when life is simple and not cluttered with things, life can be less stressful.
4. Do you use credit cards wisely? If so, they are great to review to track where you spend the most money. There is power in that knowledge! Then you can make an effort to reduce spending in over spent areas! Many people never know where all their money has gone.
5. Eating out is the number one expense, eating from vending machines is next. Take more lunches, buy foods in quantity and divide it into manageable servings. Store in the freezer or smaller containers. Buying foods in individual servings will cost more money. Save money and possibly loose weight by not eating all your money away with high fat fast foods!
